Tameside Blind Association (TBA) is an organisation for all visually impaired people living in Tameside, Greater Manchester.

There had been several clubs for visually impaired people in the area, but in the 1974 local government reorganisation and the birth of Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council it was considered appropriate to have an umbrella organisation with the aim of supporting visually impaired people in Tameside - the result was TBA.

Today there are several social clubs supported by TBA running in the borough, as well as practical support services provided by TBA's Community Support Project, which is backed by funding from the National Lottery (Big Lottery Fund).

Whether you are visually impaired or sighted you may wish to support the Association by becoming a member (£1 per year), just contact TBA.

TBA aims to work in partnership with other agencies in the area including hospitals, doctors, council services and other voluntary groups and the Association has contacts with national organisations supporting visually impaired people.

All visually impaired people in Tameside, carers and friends have access to the services offered. If you have any queries please give us a call.

Please use this web site to find out what the Association does and who makes it happen.

Reminder that legacies are always gratefully accepted
