The Mission and Vision Statement

The Association aims to reflect the needs, concerns and aspirations of vision impaired people living in Tameside.



The Association will:


    1 Strive to be open and accountable to members and users of its service.


    2 Actively involve vision impaired people at all levels of the organisation and celebrate their    achievements to promote a positive image of people with a vision impairment.


    3 Be proactive in seeking to collaborate with other organisations, both local and national,    which could benefit vision impaired people.


    4 Recruit trustees who can help to deliver the vision of the Association and who possess the    necessary skills to manage a progressive organisation.


    5 Employ suitably experienced and motivated staff to deliver the priorities identified by the    Association.


    6 Involve volunteers in the provision of high quality services to vision impaired people.


    7 Aspire to become a centre of excellence for people with a vision impairment.


    8 Be an effective voice for the vision impaired community by constantly consulting with vision    impaired people to reflect changing situations.


    9 Endeavour to reflect and engage with the local community in all its diversity and comply with    all current Equal Opportunities legislation.
