Members of the Association prepare for the 2008 AGM

The AGM of the Association duly took place on 22nd November at 4 Wellington Parade. In the absence of Mr Cowan (Chair) and in accordance with the Constitution, after a delay of 15 minutes Ray Carter was nominated to take the chair for the meeting.

The usual items of apologies for absence - none were received, minutes of the last AGM and matters arising therefrom were read, proposed and accepted after a discussion. The Meeting then heard the Trustees' Report, the Treasurer's Report and the Community Support Project Report, all of which were accepted.

The members present were then asked to consider a proposal for an amendment to the Constitution namely -

Part 2 Item 19 Proceedings if Trustees (7)

"The quorum shall be 5" to be changed to read "The quorum shall be 50 per cent of the Committee rounded up to the nearest whole number."

The amendment was agreed.

A further proposal that an amendement to the Constitution in Part 1 Item 3 Objects was rejected by the Meeting.

There being no nomination for Chair or Vice-Chair, these positions will remain vacant at present. The retiring Officers and Trustees offered themselves for re-election, which the Meeting voted to accepted and an additional Trustee, John Price, was elected.

The meeting closed with an Open Forum.
