About TBA
The Aims and Objectives of the Association
"To do anything necessary for the welfare of visually impaired residents of Tameside, including the provision, maintenance, encouragement and control of pastime occupational centres, shops, clubs and other building incidental to the carrying out of the purpose of this clause.
To engage and employ any staff necessary, including administrative or welfare workers.
Generally to promote and assist the welfare of any blind or partially sighted resident of Tameside and to watch, assist and co-operate in any way conducive to the welfare of blind or partially sighted-people."

How does TBA meet these Aims?
The Association:
- Helps autonomous clubs for visually-impaired people within Tameside.
- Operates a community support project.
- Arranges day trips and social events.
- Provides, in certain strictly-controlled circumstances, occasional financial help.
- Works closely with Social Care & Health Tameside.
- Is involved with national organisations for the visually-impaired.
